About US

FHF Gear was born out of necessity in a SWAT leader’s workshop. Mainstream equipment routinely fell short under life-or-death stakes, so we began engineering custom hardware to eliminate critical failure points and solve real-world liabilities. Every material choice, stitch count, and layout configuration was designed from day one with a singular, non-negotiable objective: to ensure your gear holds up to anything, no matter what.

That standard is fueled and forged by Montana, a brutal proving ground where unpredictable seasonal swings and unforgiving terrain instantly expose fragile design. We don’t engineer for the ideal moment or casual lifestyle trends; we design strictly for consequence. For us, Fish. Hunt. Fight. are not separate retail marketing categories. They are hard-use realities that require the exact same baseline accountability, demanding highly adaptable equipment that transitions seamlessly across environments.

Today, our definitive promise remains unchanged: Montana Designed. Built for Consequence. We build to this standard to better provide for users in high-consequence situations where the price of equipment failure is absolute. The result is an uncompromised, multi-purpose system engineered to deliver complete modular control, guaranteeing that your gear works everywhere and fails nowhere.

Founder / Product Line Manager

Paul Lewis

I was born and raised in Montana and grew up with a love for the outdoors. I graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Wildlife Management before starting a 20-year career as a Deputy with the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office. There, I held a wide range of leadership roles and worked my way up to become one of the Team Leaders of our multi-agency Special Response Team. During my time in law enforcement, I developed an interest in the gear we used and often found functional similarities between the gear I used at work and at play.

I’m an avid fly fisherman and hunter, and I enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors. In 2009, I started building my own gear, driven by a passion for designing versatile, user-focused equipment. Today, as the founder of FHF Gear, I’m still fueled by a commitment to help people customize their gear to fit their unique needs. My long-term vision is to keep FHF Gear at the forefront of innovation and continue producing high-quality gear made right here in the USA.

Brand Manager

Sebastien Dekleva

I was born and raised in the Colorado mountains, spending my childhood on the family farm, and chasing deer, elk and trout whenever I had the chance. I have worked in marketing across many fields, from non-profit to commercial construction, joining the FHF Gear team in May of 2026.

My role at FHF is to oversee the brand's marketing, plan campaigns and product launches, and work alongside the rest of the team to help create the best hunting and fishing gear possible.

Strategic Operations Manager

Caleb Kern

Born in New Hampshire, I moved to Wyoming as a kid and grew up there before heading to Maine for college. I spent the first few years of my career in management consulting, working as an Analyst, then Chief of Staff, then Manager before finding my way to FHF in June 2026. Now based in Bozeman, Montana, I continue to spend as much time as possible outdoors, whether fishing, scouting & hunting, looking for birds of prey, or snowboarding.

As FHF's Strategic Operations Manager, I'm fortunate to combine a background in business operations with my love for the outdoors and high quality gear.
